This full-time role is home-based.   You will be working closely with and reporting to IDEAL’s Vice President.

We are looking for a qualified Account Manager to build relationships with existing customers and forge new relationships with new customers. 

EXPECTED TERRITORY:  Northeastern USA

PRODUCTS:   IDEAL Electric products including but not limited to electric motors and generators, condensers, motor-generator sets, switchgear, power systems and controls that are of new design, new build, re-manufactured or replacement including parts, repair, and service

ACTIVITIES AND DUTIES

Travel within the assigned territory or account base to identify and develop business opportunities

- Meet with customer of OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers), EPC’s (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction), and end-users

- Present technical seminars on large machines

- Identify new customers and develop market strategy

Manage marketing and sales actions

- Negotiate contracts for large machines

- Manage the technical and commercial support to OEMs, EPCs and end-users in the territory

- Coordinate sales activities with other Account Managers, as needed

Work with Application Engineers

- Resolve issues related to requests for quotations

- Provide guidance, as needed, to application engineers in order to clarify customer requirements

Managing purchase orders and contracts

- Coordinate the analysis of contract terms

- Resolve order entry issues

- Engage in technical discussions with engineering teams at the factories, as needed

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Sales Experience: 3 years (Preferred)
  • Electric Motor/Generators Experience:  3 years (Preferred)
  • Experienced working with customers and vendors in a B2B environment
  • A team player with excellent communication skills
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving capability
  • Great attention to detail and time-management skills

WORKING CONDITIONS AND WORK HOURS

  • Daily minimum of 8 hours. Weekly 40-hour minimum.
  • This position generally operates in a professional office environment.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours, overtime, and occasional weekends, holidays, and nights.
  • Travel is required (likely 60-75%). Must be able to travel throughout the United States and abroad. Must have the ability obtain and maintain a valid passport and US-issued driver’s license.
