IDEAL ELECTRIC COMPANY, a 122-year-old, independent American manufacturer of high-power, specialty electric motors, generators, power systems and controls seeks an experienced, Inventory Control Specialist to join our on-site team in Mansfield, Ohio. The Inventory Control Specialist oversees the ordering, storing, receiving and distributing processes of the organization’s products and supplies. Key duties include controlling the flow of supplies and equipment, tracking and analyzing inventory maintenance, and developing protocols for loss mitigation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain and update inventory records using inventory management software/ERP system
- Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages and excesses
- Forecast standard inventory usage and order, receive, and document new stock, ensuring its adequate storage
- Perform regular physical inventory audits and cycle counts, and reconcile discrepancies
- Coordinate with sales and production departments to forecast future inventory needs
- Implement effective inventory control methods and procedures
- Work with project teams to identify obsolete or damaged inventory and ensure timely disposition of materials in accordance with company policies
- Prepare detailed reports of inventory operations, stock levels, and adjustments
- Pull and distribute parts for production departments, moving material through use of forklift, powered hand truck, and overhead cranes
- Work with the logistics team to manage shipping processes and schedules
- Ensure compliance with inventory processes and procedures
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES:
WORKING CONDITIONS AND WORK HOURS:
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee:
- High School diploma or certified equivalent
- Previous inventory control or warehousing experience of 3 years or greater is preferred
- Experience in a heavy manufacturing environment preferred
- Experience operating forklifts and overhead cranes is helpful
- Technical literacy, with proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 suite and inventory management software (ERP)
- Excellent math and analytical skills and ability to accurately track inventory and create reports
- Strong verbal and written communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational and planning skills with strong attention to detail
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving capability
- Exceptional attention to detail and time-management skills
WORKING CONDITIONS AND WORK HOURS:
- Daily 8-hour minimum. Weekly 40-hour minimum.
- This position generally operates in a warehouse or office environment and is required to move about the production areas of the facility
- This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as phones, computers, copiers/printers
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee:
- is regularly required to talk, hear, read, and write/type
- is frequently required to stand, sit, and walk throughout all areas of the facility
- is occasionally required to climb, and/or balance, and ascend/descend stairs
- must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds unassisted
- must be able to exhibit specific vision abilities required by this job which include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
