OVERVIEW: The Machine Maintenance Supervisor is a working leader responsible for both technical maintenance and supervisory duties. This role involves direct involvement in troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance while also managing technicians, contractors, inventories, and budgets. The supervisor supports day-to-day operations, collaborates with other departments, and plays an active role in facility projects and equipment installations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Plan and execute preventive maintenance activities to maximize equipment uptime
  • Perform hands-on troubleshooting and repair of mechanical and electrical systems
  • Lead and supervise maintenance technicians and contractors with guidance and training
  • Prioritize and coordinate work orders to reduce production downtime
  • Monitor and manage inventory of spare parts and supplies to ensure availability
  • Develop and maintain maintenance budgets; track costs and identify savings
  • Identify process improvements and recommend equipment upgrades for efficiency
  • Maintain compliance with safety regulations and company procedures
                            
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES
  • Experience in maintenance leadership roles within manufacturing environments
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems and ability to interpret maintenance data
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and GD&T symbols
  • Skilled in organizing, prioritizing, and executing multiple tasks
  • Valid driver’s license: willing and able to travel by air if needed
  • Capable of lifting 50–75 lbs. and working in confined or elevated spaces
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Project, PowerPoint) and Visual preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS AND WORK HOURS
  • Daily minimum of 8 hours. Weekly 40 hour minimum. Overtime as required, subject to production schedules and may vary based upon specific customer needs
  • May be exposed to confined spaces
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours and overtime, and occasional weekends, holidays, and nights


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee:
  • is regularly required to talk and hear
  • is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and enter small and/or confined spaces
  • is occasionally required to sit, climb, and/or balance
  • must be able to lift 50-75 pounds and climb ladders and scaffolding to heights of 30 feet with regularity
  • must be able to exhibit specific vision abilities required by this job which include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
