Test Floor Assistant
IDEAL ELECTRIC COMPANY, a proud 122-year-old American-owned electric motor and generator manufacturer, is seeking a detail-oriented Test Floor Assistant to join our quality testing team in Mansfield, Ohio. As a Test Floor Assistant reporting to the Test Floor Supervisor, you'll play a hands-on role in the inspection and testing of rotating machinery, controls, switchgear, and transformer equipment throughout the manufacturing process and ultimately on our massive test floor. We're looking for someone who consistently shows up ready to work, values precision and accuracy, and takes pride in ensuring every unit meets required specifications and customer requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACTIVITIES

KEY QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or certified equivalent
- Experience in a heavy manufacturing environment is required; a focus on large motors, generators, and rotating equipment is helpful
- Ability to work from engineering specifications, wiring and schematic diagrams, and standards
- Working knowledge of electrical testing equipment and computers
- Experience operating various manufacturing equipment, forklifts, and overhead cranes is helpful
- Technical literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 suite, and ERP and CRM software
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving capability
- Teamwork approach with excellent communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and time-management skills
- Ability to use the following: test stand and fixtures, a variety of power sources and equipment to drive or load equipment on test, a variety of metering, gauging, recording, and analyzing equipment, and distribution controls, hand tools, and power hoist.
ADDITIONAL DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Electrical maintenance course training certifications or education in a related field are preferred
- Experience with large motors, generators, and rotating equipment is helpful
- Experience working with vendors in a B2B environment
WORKING CONDITIONS AND WORK HOURS
- Daily minimum of 8 hours. Weekly 40-hour minimum.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours and overtime, and occasional weekends, holidays, and nights
- This position generally operates in the manufacturing areas of the facility
- This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, copiers/printers, and phones
