OVERVIEW: The Die Setter supports production objectives by safely installing, aligning, and securing stamping dies and tooling into manufacturing presses according to blueprints and engineering specifications. This full-time role is based in Mansfield, Ohio working closely with, and reporting to, the Production Supervisor.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Set up, align, and secure stamping dies, fixtures, and tooling onto production presses
• Load and position coils of sheet metal or raw materials into feeding mechanisms
• Adjust machine settings to control press speed, material feed rates, and stroke length to meet specifications
• Conduct test runs and first-piece inspections to ensure equipment is set properly and working efficiently
• Troubleshoot minor on-line tooling issues and make necessary press adjustments during production runs
• Inspect finished parts for quality assurance using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments
• Assist and guide machine operators with setup changes, troubleshooting, and operational parameters
• Perform routine basic maintenance on presses and ensure dies are safely transported to and from storage
• Maintain a clean, well-organized, and safe work area
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES
• High School diploma or certified equivalent.
• Minimum of 2–3 years of experience as a Die Setter or in press setup within a heavy manufacturing environment.
• Strong working knowledge of mechanical presses, feed systems, and stamping die configurations.
• Basic analytical thinking and problem-solving capability, with an understanding of practical shop math.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, job orders, and technical engineering data.
• Proficiency in using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with press operators and maintenance teams.
• Demonstrated experience operating forklift trucks and overhead cranes for heavy die handling is highly preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND WORK HOURS
- Daily minimum of 8 hours. Weekly 40 hour minimum.
- Occasional overtime as needed, subject to production schedules and may vary based upon specific department and customer needs.
- This position generally operates in the manufacturing areas of the facility.
