OVERVIEW: The HR Generalist works in implementing processes and programs that advance effective recruiting and retention of the company's most important asset, our team members. Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the Human Resources Generalist at Ideal Electric will play a critical role in supporting HR operations and ensuring the well-being and satisfaction of our employees. This role performs professional level human resources work and carries out responsibilities in one or more of the functional areas, such as staffing, employee relations, benefits administration, payroll processing, performance management, and safety. This role carries out administrative work involving various aspects of HR and maintains related records; develops and improves policies, programs, and procedures to improve the effectiveness of HR and Operations

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as Talent Acquisition Specialist in collaboration with HR team and hiring managers. Understanding the need for timely recruitment strategies, creating and publish compelling job postings, screen resumes and short-list candidates, participate in interviews, draft offer letters, and coordinating new-hire processing.
- Assist Business Unit Managers and/or Supervisors with employee inquiries, performance review process, coaching, counseling, and terminations.
- Maintain knowledge of current federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommend best practices. Assist with maintaining the organization’s compliance with associated agencies.
- Oversee employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee benefits. Assist employees with inquiries and enrollment.
- Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing. Address employee payroll-related inquiries and discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate and confidential written and digital HR records and documentation, including employee files, attendance, and timekeeping. Ensure HRIS is being maintained and used accordingly.
- Administer Workers Compensation programs, ensuring timely reporting, claims management, and coordination with third party administrators.
- Assist in managing employee relations matters, including employment-related inquiries from employees, conflict resolution, and investigations.
- Maintain and coordinate employee recognition programs.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES
- Minimum 3 years of progressive Human Resources positions, with a substantial portion of the experience in a manufacturing operation
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
SHRM certification preferred but not required - Proven experience as an HR Generalist with expertise in Recruitment
- Technically sound in Human Resources fundamentals and best practices and the application of them in manufacturing operations
- Thorough knowledge of employment laws and regulations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
- Strong knowledge of and working experience with HRIS software. Paycom experience highly preferred.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills including problem solving and conflict resolution abilities
- Competence to build and effectively manage professional, respectful, and collaborative interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company and with outside associates
- Customer service oriented with a collaborative work style and ability to work effectively across departments
- Detail-oriented and able to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Competence to operate ethically to protect the assets and image of the company
WORKING CONDITIONS AND WORK HOURS
- 8 hours minimum daily; 40 hours minimum weekly
- This position generally operates in a professional office environment and may occasionally be required to move about the production areas of the facility
- This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as phones, computers, copiers/printers
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee:
- will spend prolonged periods sitting at a desk
- is regularly required to talk, hear, read, and write/type
- is frequently required to stand, sit, ascend/descend stairs, and move throughout all areas of the facility
- must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds unrestricted
- must be able to exhibit specific vision abilities required by this job which include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
